History does not repeat or rhyme, but patterns of human behavior, and the rise and decline of empires, most certainly does. I am sadly unfamiliar with the writings of Thomas Jefferson. What I learned here is that 250 years ago he saw the vital importance of the people (the governed) being familiar with history so they could recognize when human behavior was repeating and avoid the pitfalls of history that were being repeated. So, have to wonder, is this why history has been de-emphasized to the point of young people being ignorant of the past? Orwell (a reformed Communist) gave us the warning: "Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past". So the 1619 project, Juneteenth, "America is the most racist nation ever" etc. are now widely accepted (in error) by many young people. They feel our nation sucks, started slavery, and is racist...because that is what they have been taught in our K-12 school system. Those who would destroy us had an attack vector that went after the generational foundation of our populace via the schools for decades. Toss in millions of unassimilated migrants, the vast majority of whom are military age males from..."strategic competitor nations" and you have quite a mess. Jefferson certainly warned us. We need to heed his warning, and fight for our freedom. Thank you for bringing his words to our attention.

Thank you DR for the reminder. The voting process is controlled from the beginning by PACs which are funded by NGOs. You have done a great job tracing the connections from the Philanthropy Oligarchs and myriad foreign actors, both countries and private citizens who seek to overthrow our system.
History will show that this is not a new phenomenon but has grown to its current levels using our tax laws and a completely in line Media and Academia.
I have been aware of this since I saw USA care packages being unloaded in Piraeus harbor being repainted with GIFT FROM THE USSR. Meanwhile the US state department officials and the Greek government officials looked blissfully on. Nothing has changed since the 1950’s, it’s just grown to dominate the world.

Taxing individual's wages directly provides unlimited, continuous funding to bureaucrats, hidden organizations and politicians for greed, mischief and personal power. For 150 years, federal government had to fund itself through tariffs and commerce. If US production didn't prosper, they didn't prosper and government had to function withiin a fixed budget.
Full time politicians and bloated bureaucracies didn't happen until after income tax passed.

The Mayflower Compact (1620,) Declaration of Independence, and Constitutions of colonial states, etc. prove that we began this nation righteously, with our majority of people Christians (To me this includes Catholics and all denominations that believe in Jesus Christ and the Bible.) The revolutionary war, WWI and WWII were also zealously supported and fought by patriotic Americans; moral people who generally agreed, some exceptions like the civil war. Because of the past 190 years my boomer generation generally trusted schools, local, state, and federal officials and judges of both parties; Judeo Christian values largely prevailed. A boomer friend recently said, “I had no idea when this started. My children got on the bus went to public school and went to college, and we assumed would be taught truth. Not today we have a good-evil, right-left. Only 60 years, how? Two reasons. One, as DateRepublican quoted Thomas Jefferson, “Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone.” Two, as 2 Timothy states; many have moved away from trusting God becoming lovers of self, lovers of money, disobedient to parents, without self-control, haters of good, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. We need to add John Adam’s quote to Thomas Jefferson’s “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other”
The solution is as DataRepublican says,” But there is no day like today to improve your own mind, to safeguard against tyranny. And it can look like this:
• Do you know the NGOs in your own local community?
• Can you spare the time to run for a local office?
• Do you know who finances the materials and toolkits that your public school curriculum uses?
• Do you understand the foreign influence in your city governments (there will be some for every major city)?”
• My addition: President Trump and His people, Elon, and many others are giving us time to do as DataRepublican suggests. Voting does count and we need to energize our votes and voters to prevent the leftist majorities in the House and Senate!
